    Port-au-Prince, le 23 septembre 2016.- L’Association haïtienne des médias en ligne (AHML) a été présentée aujourd’hui 23 septembre 2016 au grand public. La cérémonie s’est déroulée à la Fondation connaissance et liberté (FOKAL – en créole) en présence notamment des représentants de divers responsables de médias en ligne.

    Le président de l’AHML, Stéphane Lacroix a présenté les objectifs de cette association qui consistent à « combattre la diffamation pratiquée sur la toile, offrir au public un portail d’activités diversifié, défendre les droits des membres de l’association, permettre une meilleure publication des informations sur internet et lutter pour le respect des droits d’auteurs sur internet », entre autres.

    « Le renforcement des capacités des membres de l’association, à travers la formation, et la cohésion au niveau des actions des membres sont les principaux axes sur lesquels l’association va s’appuyer en vue d’atteindre ces objectifs susmentionnés », a expliqué le président de l’association.

    En vue de matérialiser l’idée de fondation de l’association, Stéphane Lacroix affirme avoir pris aux mots les déclarations du Secrétaire général de l’Organisation des Nations unies (ONU), Ban Ki Moon qui a déclaré à l’occasion de la journée mondiale de la presse, en mai 2016, que « les médias en ligne sont les yeux et les oreilles du monde entier ».

    Aussi, a-t-il précisé que l’association est « apolitique » et compte s’impliquer à fond dans la réalisation des « activités à caractère social » dans le pays.

    Pour sa part, la secrétaire de l’AHML, Natacha Durose a présenté quelques messages de sensibilisation que l’association compte vulgariser. Ces messages visent à sensibiliser les Citoyens à l’occasion des élections du 9 octobre 2016, entre autres.

    Le vice-président de l’association, Franciyou Germain a, de son côte, présenté le site internet de l’AHML au public. Ce site contient notamment les logos, les liens des différents membres [fondateurs] de l’association ainsi que la démarche à suivre afin de devenir membres (adhérent et associé) de cette structure médiatique.

    Cette association regroupe une douzaine de médias en ligne dont www.vantbefinfo.com qui a un représentant au niveau du comité exécutif.

    Au terme de la conférence de lancement de l’AHML, les membres du comité exécutif en ont profité pour répondre aux questions des journalistes qui s’intéressaient aux prochaines activités que l’association s’apprête à réaliser.
